I am and always will be the optimist, the hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams.

cumberbatchitis:

Cumberbatch’s dedication comes through as he rattles off his character’s back story: “Before this story begins Guillam’s a man who ran an operation in North Africa … Morocco probably.” He pauses, briefly. “A port town, where he was a clerk and he had Arab agents. Being a French Protectorate, he is fluent; he is Anglo-French, his father was French and worked in the Resistance and his mother, we think, worked in Bletchley Park.” (x)
So basically… Peter Guillam’s mother might have known Alan Turing? This might be a nice twist - and yet another good reason for Peter to be careful about his secrets.

So moments pass as though
they wished to stay.
We have not long to love.
A night. A day…
